ENG1 Medical
The ENG1 medical certificate is a non-invasive medical examination that assesses a seafarer’s fitness to work on a UK-flagged vessel. This examination is legally required and must be conducted by an MCA-approved doctor.
Our expert team ensures compliance with industry standards, delivering exceptional occupational health services tailored to your business needs.

Any seafarer working on a ship must hold a valid ENG1 certificate (or an equivalent certificate) to work on a merchant vessel or to obtain any UK Certificate of Competency.
The ENG1 medical examination consists of the following assessments:

The physician will review and interpret the results while the patient is present. The ENG1 forms will be completed online during the consultation.

I always use Pathways Occupational Health for my Oil & Gas, OGUK, ENG1 medicals. I did try other places when Pathways didn’t have dates that I needed but I didn’t get as good a service elsewhere, so now I always try to book my medical in advance.
Working offshore, I find it hard to book in advance but the last few times Pathways have helped me out big time. They even went as far as working late one night so that I could get my medicals done at very last minute.
All the staff at Pathways Occupational Health, from the Doctors, nurses, technicians and admin team are all spot on.
Everyone I meet I tell them to use Pathways for any medical because they will get a top service.
