The OGUK medical examination, now known as the OEUK Medical, is an essential assessment for anyone working offshore. It ensures you are physically and medically fit to operate safely in challenging offshore environments such as oil and gas platforms or renewable energy sites.

At Pathways Occupational Health, we deliver comprehensive OEUK/OGUK medical assessments in line with current industry standards, helping individuals and employers meet strict regulatory requirements while prioritising health and safety.

What Is an OGUK (OEUK) Medical?

The OGUK Medical is a fitness-for-work medical assessment developed by Offshore Energy UK (OEUK) to evaluate whether a worker is medically suitable for offshore duties. It is a mandatory requirement for most offshore roles.

During the examination, our experienced clinicians assess key health indicators, including:

  • Blood pressure and pulse
  • Vision and hearing
  • Lung function
  • BMI and general physical health
  • Urinalysis
  • Medical history review
  • Any other risk factors relevant to offshore work

When passed, the examination results in an OEUK Medical Certificate, valid for up to two years.
